Top 5 in St. John, USVI
St. john is a magical place full of exploration, food, drinks, and sailing. Below are my top five adventures, restaurants, and activities. Sit back, grab a rum punch, and enjoy.
1. The Windmill Bar
This is by far my favorite hidden gem on the island. They are known for their sunsets, so we arrived right around 4:00 and stayed until sundown. It is a tiny little outdoor bar with the most amazing sunsets. The website says they have a food menu, but when we were their they were selling local food made on island, which was also amazing. If you only go to one place on the island to watch he sunset, drink a rum punch, and eat local food, this is it.
2. Dinghy Rental
We headed out for a kid free day with a dinghy rental from Wharfside Water Sports, which we would highly recommend. With limited boating experience, they handled everything (as well as taught us how to drive the dinghy). We headed to Caneel Bay and Cinnamon Bay which were completely private beaches only accessible by boat. We then took the dinghy over to Honeymoon bay for lunch and people watching. This day was the absolute best and was full of relaxation and beautiful views.
3. Kekoa Day Sail
If you are looking for the perfect day sail, their is nothing better than a day on Kekoa. We boarded the boat in the morning and were pleasantly surprised to have an all female crew. They took great care of us and took us on a fun sail around the island with 3 snorkeling stops. Lunch was great and drinks were cold. We saw a variety of sea animals as well as a shipwreck. We are definitely adding this to the list for our next USVI adventure.
4. Waterlemon Cay
We took the kids for a hike and snorkeling adventure to Waterlemon Cay. We were quite impressed with the ability of a 9 year old and 5 year old to hike in about a mile, but they were great. The snorkeling was crystal clear and great for beginners. Perfect day in a remote spot on the water.
5. Irie Pops
What’s not to love about a cool treat on a hot island? Our fam loved this cool treat. Located in Cruz Bay right on the water, the interesting flavors will satisfy everyone.
