Top 5 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

I had the pleasure of taking a winter getaway to Cabo San Lucas and it was just a perfect! This was our 3rd time traveling to Cabo and that says a lot about how much we love it as it is not easy to get to from the east coast. This time if was for a multi generational family trip. The weather in Cabo can’t be beat and the ability to safely explore is the best. Sit back, relax, and grab a tequila sunrise….

Villa Del Arco Beach Resort

We stayed at Villa Del Arco this time around and it was just perfect for our large group of 9 ranging from ages 1-70! Our family of 4 opted for a 1 bedroom suite with a living room and kitchen. The resort is nice because it isn’t a mega resort that requires a golf cart to get everywhere. It is small in size but still has several restaurants, an amazing spa, and large pools. Although great for our group, I would say I have stayed at other resorts that have more kids activities. Kids were not allowed in the hot tubs and they also did not allow games (like football, catch, etc. ) in the pool. The restaurants were great, we especially loved El Patron for breakfast and an AMAZING tasting menu as well as the South American Grille for a casual dinner.

The Office

If you know, you know! The Office On the Beach is the best day drinking, people watching, margarita drinking place in all of Cabo. Even better that you can walk their from Villa Del Arco. The food is also supposed to be some of the best in Cabo, but we are always there for the drinks. The Office is a must when in Cabo.

Alexander Cabo

If you are looking for a fun and festive dinner on the marina, definitely check out Alexander’s. We mood is fun and lively and the food is really good. We especially enjoyed the tableside Caesar salad and the tableside Mexican coffee (with real fire). Clearly some people couldn’t hang with the time change at dinner :).

Whale Watching and Lover’s Beach

What a fun way to spend a few hours. We took a whale watching trip one morning via PezGato Cabo. The boat was nice, the crew was great, and we saw A LOT of whales! This was a great activity for our group and a good way to see a little bit of Cabo by boat. The boat offered food, drinks, and had a bathroom. I would recommend this for your trip if you want a break from the pool/beach and it is fun for all ages.

We also did a morning at Lover’s Beach. If you aren’t familiar with Cabo, the arch is the southern most point of the Yucatan Peninsula. One side of the arch is on the bay (Lover’s Beach) and one side of the arch is on the Pacific Ocean (Divorce Beach). You cannot swim in the Pacific side due to the undertow. We took a quick boat ride over the the beach to explore a new area and have some swim time. I would only recommend this for the adventure seekers in your group as it was a challenge to jump in and out of the boat when the waves were crashing.

When considering a trip to Mexico, put Cabo at the top of your list. We can’t wait to plan our next trip to our favorite Mexican destination!
