Top 5 in Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston, SC is just the perfect destination for a girls weekend. A little bit of culture, shopping, great restaurants, and nightlife. My friends of 20+ years had the best time exploring the Holy City. So sit back, relax, and make yourself a craft cocktail or sweet tea and learn all about out weekend in Charleston, SC.

The Charlestonian

We chose to rent a VRBO for the weekend, which was a wise choice for a group of 5. We chose The Charlestonian and could not be happier with our choice. The location was perfect, all the decor and furniture was local to Charleston, and the large front porch was perfect for morning coffee and happy hour. Fun fact, many homes in Charleston have gas lit lanterns, which are so charming.

Husk

I am sure you have already heard about Husk, and their is good reason for it. We were able to snag a late lunch reservation and took our time eating and drinking through the menu. The drinks were creative and the crispy chicken skin appetizer is a must try. If you are a group of 2 or 4, request to sit on the porch. A little know fact is that Husk actually has a bar and patio located next door to the restaurant. They open at 5 each day and are first come first serve. This would be a great option if you are not able to snag a resy.

Citrus Club

The Citrus Club Rooftop bar is located at the top of the Dewberry Hotel. This hidden gem was the perfect find after a day of walking around the French Quarter. The drinks were unique and it felt like a tropical oasis. Stay away from the Mango Bodine and opt for The Hawk’s Perch. Your girls group will fit right in the retro decor and pretty scenery.

Historical Tour

Whether you chose to tour the french quarter yourself, or opt for a guided tour, you will want to check out all the history and architecture that Charleston has to offer. My group chose to do a horse and carriage tour, which was informational and a good break for our feet. We also spent a few hours walking around and they both gave us so much to look at. I’ll let the pictures do the talking….

The Grocery

Our last night in Charleston we were looking for a place to grab dinner close to our VRBO. We had walked by The Grocery several times and it looked intriguing. We called and luckily they were able to fit us in at their communal table. We were excited about a produce forward menu after all the southern food and drinks. We raved about this place and I am still thinking about their food. I am so glad we found this place.

Lastly, I have been so lucky to spend 25+ years with this group of friends. Charleston, thank you for being the perfect back drop for our time together. So grab your girl gang and head to Charleston. I know I will be back!

How could I forget to mention our fun run in with a D list Bravo celebrity? Craig and his Sewing Down South shop is super cute and he couldn’t have been nicer.
